Beside Maa Ganga (Pt.1)

We fell from the shadows

the winds blew south

flowing along the river like souls

continual, eternal and free

I stopped to watch her smile

the beauty did light my day

we shared a knowing glance

a moment so fragile it awoke my senses

I stopped to watch a swaying tree

the wind did take its branches

I sat beneath its falling leaves

on earth so cold and raw

The sky began to open

a light, a beam, shone through

the grey became illuminated

behind the silhouette of mountain peaks

I fell amidst the wonder

crawled to the naked rock

pressed my head against it

and cried with joy for life
