The Jungle

I was in the jungle

the rules had been burnt

cinder and ash flung through the air

a heady cocktail of confrontation and release

Love lay on the other side of the hill

possibility, intrigue, the undiscovered

everything that was yet uncharted

I forgot to mention there was a hill

it was glorious

a barrier between you and I

a safety net for my emotions

Protected

I moved towards the lake

if you could only see it you would have too

trickles of golden cosmos patter the aqua surface

Voiceless

the trickles sing

the view alone a journey

Inwards

outwards

to a space

I call home
